On Monday of the following week, Governor Chief Nyesom Wike of the Rivers State would launch some of the initiatives finished by the governor Okezie Ikpeazu regime.
The Osisioma Ngwa overpass, the Nwaobasi Estate ring road, the Aba-Owerri road, and some other infrastructure projects finished by the Ikpeazu regime include the projects Gov. Wike is rumored to dedicate on his visit.
The commissioning of the projects will serve as the capstone to the celebration of the 31st anniversary of the founding of Abia State, according to Ikpeazu, who made this disclosure in Port Harcourt while flagging off the building of township roads in Igwuruta town, Ikwerre council area of Rivers State.
He clarified that he will have the chance to accept Wike’s offers for identical reasons upon the launching of the projects by his Rivers state equivalent.
The Governor congratulated his colleague from Rivers State for their friendship and for being an excellent leader who had elevated the bar, particularly when it came to providing infrastructure for his State’s citizens.
The governor of Abia state encouraged his colleague in Rivers State in a statement published by his chief press secretary, Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka, not to be deterred by the antics of critics because, ever from Biblical times, people tasked with reconstructing the State have faced difficulties.
“I applaud Governor Nyesom Wike for his compassion and for being a excellent leader who has lifted the bar, particularly when it comes to the development of infrastructure for the residents of Rivers State. I tell him not to let the antics of critics deter him because, ever since Biblical times, individuals tasked with reconstructing the State have faced difficulties.
Next Monday, Governor Wike will inaugurate our projects in Abia. The official culmination of the celebration of the 31st anniversary of the founding of Abia State will be the launching of the projects, according to Ikpeazu.
Prior to this, Wike had thanked Ikpeazu on behalf of the government and people of Rivers State for accepting their invitation and for supporting him in politics.
Ikpeazu, in his opinion, was a trustworthy and loyal friend.
