Julius Lepes, the former information and culture commissioner for the Gombe State, has joined the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
Lepes left the All Progressives Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party before this incident, where he was named commissioner.
The party leader had held the position of commissioner in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
Julius claimed he decided to defect to the NNPP after extensive deliberation with his supporters and lovers throughout the state. Julius joined the NNPP after meeting its governorship candidate, Khamisu Mailantarki.
He pointed out the requirement for new air because both the APC and the PDP had let the people down.
He claimed that after the grassroots mobilization exercise, Mailantarki’s chances as the NNPP’s candidate for governor in the state will increase further.
He said that despite being a significant stakeholder and a former state commissioner, the PDP leadership had excluded him from all party operations when he joined the party.
